EASA Class 1 initial examination & certificate
For pilot students who want to apply to pilot schools, an Initial-certificate( Förstagångsintyg) is usually a requirement.
Please book in advance as there are limited slots, and it takes 3-4 weeks after the exam for the certificate to be issued.
FMC is one of the only two aeromedical centers in Sweden that does the initial examination for FCL class 1.
FMC also offers the initial examination for FCL class 2/3 and cabin crew.
This is a requirement for application to certain flight schools and YH such as TFHS, OSM Aviation Academy, and SPU.
Who is it for?
For pilot students who want to apply to pilot schools, an Initial-certificate( Förstagångsintyg) is usually a requirement.

- Assessment carried out by flight psychologist with a review of your mental health
The examination could be divided into two days. Only the first part can be booked. You can book the second part during your visit.
Please note
- You must be fasting when you come for the examination. The reason is that we take a blood sample to analyze e.g. your blood lipids.
- The various parts of the examination are spread over the first day of the examination and there may be some waiting time between each part.
- The day ends with a review of your test results with the flight doctor who will also let you know if you have been approved. It is not possible to say in advance when you will finish the examinations, but please be aware the examinations could last till 19:00.
